Responding when communities need us most

MAF supports communities affected by emergencies and natural disasters through targeted humanitarian assistance, combined wherever possible with longer term recovery and resilience.

Afgoye floods response

One example of our humanitarian response was assistance provided to 200 households affected by floods in Afgoye District.

The response included essential food items such as rice, flour, beans and cooking oil, helping affected families meet immediate food needs while supporting their recovery.

How we respond

Assess with the community

Needs are identified together with affected households and local leaders so that assistance reaches those most at risk.

Deliver essential assistance

Food, water, sanitation and hygiene support are delivered quickly and accounted for transparently.

Support recovery

Relief is connected to livelihoods, income generation and services so that families can rebuild rather than depend on aid.

Strengthen resilience

We work with communities to reduce exposure to the next shock through preparedness and environmental measures.

Help us reach the next community

Emergency response depends on funds being available before the crisis arrives.
